Back in Black

I must admit I have been a little MIA on this site for a while. Every now and then I would post something but I believe it's time for something more. I have a lot of content to provide but I want to make sure I go about it the right way. Here's a little bit as to why I've been gone.

2 weeks ago I decided to leave Blogger to move on to WordPress. What helped push this move was some comments I read from other bloggers on their approach on the subject of owning your content. Some argued the lack of rights they had to their content because they were paid by a company for those words, some argued that they had to ask permission to repurpose those words, and others argued that they didn’t want to simply lose their stuff. My stance is I want to put my words out into the world wide web for anyone to see. At this time my site is on a lower scale and I think I like it that way. I have been in the mindset that my articles are only apart of my portfolio on what I can do. Right now I don’t see myself managing a big blog site. I would like to have some income from my current blog but I am working towards proving my ability to write for larger blog sites.

After rereading those comments I noticed that what scared me is that Google could one day pack up their site and say, “I’m outta here!” but I care more about the words than anything else. Hopefully with Google being the reputable company they are they will give me fair warning before they close Blogger. That would give me time to move my information to WordPress before hand. In the meantime I will backup my own files and keep producing quality content with low overhead.

“But then, as Jason points out, even with my hosted version of Wordpress my hosting service could crap out or change its terms. Not everyone wants to run their own server in their basement and fiddle with it every day to keep it running. And I guess with many services we have to make the deal that Dave describes -- we agree to perform as hamsters to some extent, and we get free stuff in return, and ease of use, etc. We just have to make sure the bargain is worth it.” -Matthew Ingram

I am currently compiling a new theme/layout for the site and more exciting content to give you! I'll be back soon...

“Back in black I hit the sack
I been too long I'm glad to be back
Yes I am
Let loose from the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I keep looking at the sky cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the hearse cause I'll never die
I got nine lives cat's eyes
Using every one of them and runnin' wild
Cause I'm back
Yes I'm back well I'm back
Yes I'm back
Well I'm back back
Well I'm back in black”
